ESL Center: Written English Proficiency Requirement for Graduate Students

Written English Proficiency Requirement for Graduate Students

The graduate school has established a Written English Proficiency Requirement. Upon admission to NIU, affected graduate students are informed of their placement into (or exemption from) English coursework. Students who wish to challenge their placement have one opportunity to do so by taking the Graduate Exemption Test, offered twice a year in the week before classes begin in the Fall and Spring. Graduate Students are encouraged to take the Graduate Exemption Test and/or enroll in an English course early in their career at NIU.

The next test date is:

August 22, 2017.
8:30 AM - 11:00 AM
