• The Orville Baker Essay Award is for the best essays submitted during the year in undergraduate courses beyond First-Year Composition.

• The Arnold B. Fox Award is for the best essays submitted during the year in graduate courses.

• The Mae Thomas Award is for excellence in essay writing by students in Communication Skills sections of First-Year Composition.

• The Maude Uhland Award is for excellence in First-Year Composition.

• The Queen Victoria Hardison Award is for excellence in peer tutoring.

• The Gail White Award is for excellence in tutoring.
