President - Hannah Mills

Vice President - Jessica Wedemeyer

Jessica is a graduate student in the Literature and Rhetoric/Composition program and teaches First Year Composition here at NIU.  She received her undergraduate degrees in English and French in May from Northern, and just can't seem to leave DeKalb.  She would like to work in book publishing, but plans to put off the real world as long as possible.  She is the Co-Editor-in-Chief of Towers Literary and Creative Arts Magazine at NIU and loves to read poetry and fiction.

Secretary/Treasurer - Erika Sparby
Erika is a senior English major; she plans to attend graduate school and earn her PhD in English, specializing in Restoration and the Eighteenth Century literature.

New Membership Officer - Stella Mae Fuentes

Stella is double majoring in English and Political Science, with an emphasis on Public Law. She is involved in different organizations on campus, including president of her sorority. She hopes to be a lawyer and work with family law. If that does not work out, she want to be a teacher and retire happy. Either way, she wants to reside in a big city. After NIU, she wants to be an active alumnus in the organizations she is in, and hopes to make yearly visits.

Historian - Amber Keyes

Amber is a senior English major and a linguisict and Spanish double minor.  She plans on attending graduate school to earn her Ph.D. in linguistics with an emphasis on social linguistics.

Webmaster - Lionel Newman

Lionel is an English and Psychology double major, currently in his junior year. He works for Towers Literary Magazine as an editor and webmaster. He also works at the Founders Memorial Library making Flash movies, and the University Writing Center as a writing tutor. He wants to be a writer and English teacher in Thailand after graduate school.

Faculty Advisor - Professor Doris Macdonald

Faculty Advisor - Professor James Giles
James R. Giles has been a member of the Department of English at NIU since 1970. His academic specializations are in twentieth century American literature, African-American literature, and American literary naturalism. Giles is a native of Texas (heh, it's not his fault!). He agrees with Emily Dickinson in liking all animals except snakes (well, maybe not sharks). He has two cats, T. J. and Alice.
