IV.  Payday
Payday is on the 1st and 16th of each month. If you have filled out an automatic deposit slip, in your lab mailbox you will receive notification of your deposit a day or two before it actually happens. If you don't have automatic deposit, your paycheck will come in by 1:00 pm payday.  You can claim it in Reavis 215 from the Department of English secretary, Jan Vandermeer.  However, if you have another campus job, your pay for lab will be included in that paycheck and possibly sent to that job's location.

In order to be paid, you must fill out the hourly log notebook.  Because the grid in the notebook replicates that of the timecard we turn in to the payroll office, it is easy for you to transfer the grid entries to the timecard.  Do not write anything in the boxes for days you don't work.  Don't put a zero in them; don't put a slash through them.  Leave these days blank both in the notebook and on the timecard.  Timecards are due the first and 16th of each month.

*As soon as the new timecards come in and are placed in your lab mailboxes, sign them.  This way, if you fail to fill yours out by its due date, the director can record the hours you've claimed in the hourly log notebook and still submit your card for timely payment.  Completed timecards are collected in the utensil carrier on the director's desk.  Old hourly log pages are kept in the outside back cover of the  notebook so that you can check the accuracy of the hours you claimed against your paycheck.
