Title: THE AMERICAN SHORT STORY

Course Description: The shaping and development of the modern short story as a literary form by American writers, from the early 19th century to the present.

Students in this class will study the American short story from its beginning to the present.

 

Course Requirements:

Two analytical Essays (5-7 pages) typed using the MLA Style (30% each); Ten quizzes (30%); Thesis statements & topic sentences (typed, not handwritten) (10%)
