| Detailed Course Description: This is an advanced course for students who have already achieved competence as writers and wish to hone their skills. Class time will be devoted entirely to intensive, rigorous, unsparingly honest critical discussion and analysis of student writing.

| Course Requirements: Six essays; daily paragraphs evaluating and revising the essays of others.

| Required Texts: Diane Hacker, A Pocket Style Manual (St. Martin's Press) is strongly recommended as a reference book, but not required. |
