Title: WRITING POETRY II

Course Description: An advanced course in writing poetry.

PRQ: ENGL 301.

Detailed Course Description:

This course is the second in the sequence of poetry workshops; we'll focus on shaping and expanding your writing toward a chapbook of your poems. Participants will explore innovative strategies, read and write steadily throughout the semester, investigate the activity of publishing, and compile a small collection for submission. The successful participants will display a commitment to reading and attempting to refine and articulate a poetic aesthetic, and be positive and active participants in this serious workshop environment.

 

Required Texts:

TBA: likely an anthology, contemporary journals, essays on poetics, and books of poetry.
