| Detailed Course Description: In this class we come to terms with terms, learning to think and write about literature. Becoming an astute reader and thinker-about-lit requires the understanding of the techniques and approaches to literature, both intrinsic and extrinsic, as well a desire to consider the complexities of being human in the world. We’re going to sample some fabulous literature, discover ways of entering the works, write significantly and clearly about some texts, and familiarize ourselves with terms to assist our understanding. Responsibilities include study questions (response paragraphs), papers, quizzes if necessary, midterm, final. Attendance is mandatory.
