Title: Arthurian Literature

Course Description: Representative medieval works, in both Middle English and translation from European languages, with consideration of their influence on later Arthuriana.

Detailed Course Description:HONORS 

Honors  We will read a variety of medieval and early modern literature focusing on King Arthur and his court.  Middle English texts will be read in the original language; we’ll use translations for non-English texts.  Classes will typically include some combination of lecture, discussion, and a participatory activity.

 

Course Requirements:

There will be three short papers (2 pages each), two translation quizzes, and weekly homework or in-class writing exercises designed to help you understand the reading and prepare for the quizzes and papers.
