| Detailed Course Description: This course is an investigation of linguistic processes of word structure. Students will study the nature of morphological systems of English and other languages, and acquire the basic skills for analyzing word structure. After a brief survey of current morphological theories, student will focus on one morphological framework. The format of the course is lecture and discussion. Reading material will include several journal articles, and other reference books to accompany the textbook. |
| Course Requirements: There will be weekly problem-sets, presentations, a midterm or a research presentation, and a final exam or a final research paper. Attendance and participation will constitute an important part of the grading. |
