A discussion-based survey of Native American literature ranging from oral tradition to contemporary poetry, fiction, and drama across native North America. Authors may

include Scott Momaday, Louise Erdrich, Sherman Alexie, Leslie Marmon Silko among others with a good dose of related theory and criticism as well.

Course Requirements:

Students should expect to participate regularly in discussions, complete group projects, oral presentations, and write a 10 page conference paper.
