625 explores the ways scholars and practitioners do research about
professional writing. The course surveys various research methods
such as interviewing, surveys, case studies, ethnography, and
usability testing. It has two main goals: first, to enable graduate
students to better understand and critique published research, and,
second, to facilitate the design, implementation, and reporting of
their own research projects.
