Description

A focus in linguistics and stylistics involves intensive study of the application and theory of the linguistic analysis of literary texts. It is designed for those interested in the interrelationships among linguistics, rhetoric, and literary theory.

Tracks

Track I: at least 30 hours required

Track II: at least 36 hours required

Required Courses for Tracks I and II

All courses can be taken for three semester hours of credit unless otherwise indicated.

Elective Courses

Both Track I and Track II students may take 21-27 hours of electives. Nine of these hours must be graduate linguistics courses in the Department of English.
