Our program enables students to apply their writing, editing, training, and research skills within a company or organization while earning college credit. 

The Department of English strives to provide an internship program that gives students the opportunity to experience different career options, to gain workplace experience before graduation, and to use their knowledge of language in a variety of contexts. 

Serving an English internship gives students practical, professional experience before graduation, which translates into greater marketability and a competitive edge after graduation.

Perhaps the most convincing statement about the value of our program and its more tangible benefits is this one made by a former intern and recent graduate: "I have entered the job market at a higher rank and salary than I would have otherwise. Skipping over entry-level work (and pay) was a tremendous, unexpected benefit of my internship."
