Evolution—How Does the Old Create the New?

The conference theme is inspired by the work of Cary Nelson,  American Association of University Professors President, 2006-Present,  a major authority on American Modernist and Post-Modernist poetry, and author of over 150 articles and ten books, most recently,  No University is an Island:  Saving Academic Freedom. We invite proposals for fifteen-minute papers from scholars at all stages of their career.  Ideally, proposals will in any way address intellectual developments in the Liberal Arts; MCLLM is particularly interested in papers that examine the evolution of literature, orlanguage, media, or culture.

Both individual proposals and panel proposals of three to four people are welcome.
