Greetings, English 325 students. Following are some questions
that you can use to reflect upon for your posting this week.
Although you may respond to more than one question, it may
be easier to focus on just one question. Those who post after
the first person posts are heartily encouraged to respond to
other class members' posts. You should also use quotes and/or
page numbers from the text to back up the observations you make.
As much as I can, I will try to join the discussion too.

1. How does the book contrast white Christian beliefs with traditional
Laguna Pueblo beliefs? Why?

2. Why is this story being told in a non-linear fashion, with dreams,
flashbacks, and myths creating a tangled weave of narrative?

3. Contrast the white doctors' explanation for Tayo's illness with
the traditional Indian interpretation (think of Ku'oosh).

4. What might the mixed-blooded spotted cattle symbolize in this
story? Explain.

Remember, minimum of one screen (about half a page) of engaged response.
Please write to me if you have any questions about the posting assignment.

Good luck!

Dr. Day
