Add Conference

Add Conference will create a new conference in the current board.
Use the button at the bottom of this page to continue when you are finished.

Conference Name Help
First, select a brief name for the new conference. This name will appear in the conference listing, above the list of topics, and above each message that is displayed.

You are limited to 255 characters. HTML and WebBoard tags are accepted.

Enter a description for the new conference. This description will appear in the conference listing, as well as in the conference profile. Use this description to give the user more detailed information about the conference.

Mailing List Help
If checked, this conference will have an associated mailing list. Users will be able to subscribe to the mailing list and participate in this conference via email.

Add Mailing List Support

Enter a unique name for the mailing list. This name will be used to address mailing list messages, for example entering "cooking" as the unique name will result in a mailing list address of "cooking@yourdomain.com".

You are limited to 20 characters. No HTML or spaces allowed.

Newsgroup Help
If checked, this conference will have an associated newsgroup. Users will be able to access the newsgroup and participate in this conference via their NNTP client.

Add Newsgroup Support

Enter a unique name for the newsgroup. This name will be used as the newsgroup name. To create a hierarchy of newsgroups, specify a common name, followed by a period. For example, entering "support.product1" as the unique name will create a "support" hierarchy. To add a newsgroup to an existing hierarchy, include the hierarchy name, "support.product2" for example. Do not include quotation marks in the name.

Archiving Help
Message archiving allows you to keep your conference to a manageable size by keeping the number of messages displayed to a reasonable size. Archived messages can be retrieved at a later time by administrators or moderators of this conference.

Enter "0" (zero) to specify no archiving for the desired option.

Settings Help
If un-checked, all new messages must first be verified by a moderator, a manager or an administrator before it appears to other users.

Automatically verify new posts

If checked, the conference will only appear to users which an administrator specifies.

Private (closed) conference

If checked, the conference becomes a Read Only conference. Users cannot post in this conference, however administrators and moderators can.

Read only conference

If checked, spell checking will be enabled. Users will be able to use the internal WebBoard spell checker to verify the spelling of their messages.

Active Links & Images Help
If checked, links typed into messages will be automatically turned into "active" links. This allows a user to type in "http://webboard.ora.com" and have it turn into "http://webboard.ora.com".

If checked, image locations typed into messages will be automatically turned into "active" in-line images. This allows a user to type in a location such as "http://mydomain.com/image.gif", and the location will instead appear as an image.

Chat Settings Help
If checked, chat will be enabled. Users will be able to use the internal real-time chat feature in this conference.

Allow active images in chat mode
Log chat dialogue to disk

File Attachments Help
If checked, file attachments will be enabled. Users will be able to attach files to messages they post in this conference.

Allow file attachments

You can limit the number of attachments allowed per message. Enter 0 for no limit, or a number between 1 and 255 to set a limit.
