NIU's Department of English provides many opportunities in professional and technical communication. We offer courses in the practice and theory of professional and technical writing, courses in professional writing research, and courses that introduce students to industry professionals. In addition, many students serve internships in writing, editing, or training. Graduates go on to careers in software and hardware documentation, Web design, publishing, editing, corporate training, community affairs, public relations, and more.
