Introduction
  1. Name of author, title of essay
B.Brief summary of essay
C.What tools will you use to support your thesis?

D.Thesis: state your thesis clearly.
Body--supporting evidence
  1. The tone of the essay (for example)
    1. quotes or examples which reveal the tone
    2. explain how the quote or examples demonstrate the tone
    3. explain how and why the tone supports your thesis
B.The author's persona (for example)
1.quotes or examples which reveal the persona
2.explain how the quote or examples demonstrate the persona
3.explain how and why the persona supports your thesis
Conclusion
  1. Restate your thesis
  2. Summarize your analysis of the essay based on the tools you used (e.g. tone, persona)
