The "journals" referred to in this subdirectory are not professional
journals (serialized collections of articles written by experts in
a field). The journals referred to here are notebooks in which writers
record their ruminations on various subjects, their observations,
their ideas about things to write, their reactions to things they
have been reading, and so on. Unlike diaries, they
are not just chronicles of a person's daily experiences. However, you
could think of a journal as a diary of a person's thoughts.
Reading Journal: Gives suggestions for
journal entries based on students' reading. The questions are designed
to help students link their reading to other things they are reading
and experiencing.
