Computer Literacy Objectives:
In this lesson you will work with
a wordprocessing package to make indentations.
Writing Objectives: You will learn how to analyze complex
sentences by naming their structures and putting them into a
schematic pattern.
In this lesson, you will download a page of complex sentences, you
will identify and label the main clauses and the free modifiers in
each sentence, and you
will arrange the sentences in schematic patterns.
Instructions
- Look at a list of complex sentences, and
a list in which two of the sentences have been
schematized.
- Look at an explanation of how to
schematize sentences.
- Your assignment is to:
- Save to disk the page containing
two schematized sentences.
- Open this document in a wordprocessor
document and complete the
schematizing and naming process exemplified in the
first two sentences, putting in names of the free modifiers
and labeling the main clauses.
- Have a classmate check your page.
- Print out a completed copy of your
schematized sentences with your name on it, and hand it in.
- When you have completed the assignment, close your open programs
and logout.
